Who doesn’t want to live longer if possible? We all do!
However, for women, is there a secret to aging healthier and more gracefully? There might not necessarily be a *secret, * but our team of in-home care providers at Qualicare Vaughan does have some tips that may help.
How Health Changes as We Age
As we age, so does our overall health. From our bones to our digestive system to our skin, everything evolves as we celebrate each birthday.
However, we can start acting now to help slow the aging process. It allbegins with making time for ourselves and our health.
Did you know that out of the one-third of adults who are caring for a loved one, the majority are female? And most of those women are managing the responsibilities of raising a family and working outside the home along with their responsibilities as a caregiver?
But no matter what your responsibilities are, you mustmake taking care of yourself a priority, too! That’s where our team of in-home caregivers can help. While you are taking care of your needs, we can help provide quality care to your loved one to ensure his or her needs are being met.
Make the Most of Your Time
While we jump in to help care for your loved one, we want you to set a goal to do the following tasks:
Get at least 30 minutes of exercisemost days of the week. While exercise can help prevent medical conditions like heart disease and stroke, working out can also help lower stress, boost brain health and build strong bones.
And you don’t even have to perform the exercise in 30-minute increments. You can break it up into two 15-minute workouts or even three 10-minute walks if you need to!
You also want to make sure you are fueling your body the right way each day by eating a healthy, well-balanced diet that includes fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
When you eat healthy, you are giving your body the nutrients it needs to help combat disease and keep your body strong with each passing year.
