With the seasons changing and the cooler months rolling in, now is a great time to start thinking about fun activities you and your loved ones can participate in when the weather is too cold to be outdoors.
That’s why our in-home care providers at Qualicare Tri Cities want to share some ideas for when you are planning fun activities with your loved one this season.
Go for a Walk
Many older adults have at least minor issues with mobility. But that doesn’t mean they have to be stuck indoors. There are still plenty of benefits to gain from spending time in nature.
Being outdoors offers a lot of health benefits, including improved sleep, boosted mood, and vitamin D from the sun.
Head out on an easy walk, or simply take a stroll to a nice bench in a park. Perhaps even take along a bird-watching guide or a book that helps you identify plants in the area. It can be tons of fun to spend time exploring the outdoors!
Whether you’re stuck indoors because of the weather or can sneak outside to the patio, take some time to put your creative hats on!
There are tons of fall craft ideas to be found online, with many of them giving you the chance to create holiday presents for loved ones this season.
Pick up a paint brush, some pretty paint colors and a canvas, and then create a painted masterpiece. Or bring out your knitting supplies to put together a scarf or even a sweater for a friend. The possibilities are truly endless!Could you use some extra assistance caring for your aging loved one? The team at Qualicare Tri Cities can help. Give us a call to learn more!
