Qualicare provides experienced caregivers, both male and female, for live-in care, staying over-night, for a few days, a few weeks or for a few years. Live-in care is an option for patients who sleep through most of the night but may need someone on occasion or don't want to live alone. Live-in caregivers commonly work about 8 hours over each 24 hour period, usually making themselves available when needed. 

SHORT-TERM LIVE-IN CARE

Qualicare provides a safe and reliable solution when temporary short-term live in care is required on a planned or urgent basis. For example, after surgery or hospitalization, many people benefit from having someone at home, to assist and support them, after being discharged. During this initial recovery period, a live-in caregiver is an amazing comfort that can help the healing process be safer and more successful.

A live-in caregiver is able to go to the hospital and participate in the discharge plan, so they may hear, firsthand, the care requirements at home. In fact, because the caregiver travels home from the hospital with the patient, it helps enable a smooth and successful discharge and allows for a level of care continuity. This helps both the caregiver and patient to be more familiar with each other. Then, upon arriving home, the caregiver can be more effective, faster. Most people benefit greatly from having a live-in caregiver stay until the patient feels safer and recuperated enough to manage safely on their own. In fact, having the caregiver visit for a few days after can be a great relief and wonderful transition.

Another example where live-in care is useful is when a primary caregiver is planning to be away, on vacation. You may want to replace a caregiver temporarily or have someone live-in with parents, while family is away.  Having additional assistance with daily living requirements - such as baths, showers, preparation of meals, shopping and errands, can make a big difference to everyone's peace-of-mind.

If you are currently employing a live-in caregiver who needs weekend time off, our short-term live-in caregiver could be a great solution, so you never have to worry about schedule changes, attrition or caregiver illness. We will provide a consistent person that is steady and reliable and can fill-in or replace care, if the need arises. We'll send our caregiver early, in order to receive a detailed on-site review and orientation they can stay until the primary caregiver returns.

LONG-TERM LIVE IN SOLUTIONS

If live-in care requirements are longer term, the most economical way to get the best care available is to hire a foreign worker caregiver. Foreign Workers, wishing to immigrate to Canada, are available for live-in assignments in private homes, as caregivers, for any persons requiring full time assistance. Successful applications approved by government agencies are given a work permit for a specified employer, as a live-in caregiver. After two years of employment, live-in caregivers can apply to become permanent Canadian residents who can then work in any field.

We find, select and hire foreign workers, already located in Canada, on behalf of your family. These workers can be met, interviewed and chosen. They also can begin working relatively quickly and are often more adjusted to Canada, resulting in a better match.
